Enjoy being engaged

This is without a doubt the most important place to start. It’s your excuse to take a moment together to let the excitement and all those emotions sink in. Why not pop open a bottle of bubbles and celebrate this commitment. Relish in the joy of being engaged! I promise you’ll appreciate this pause as this will set the tone the epic planning ahead of you.

Set a budget

Set a budget and stick to it. It is as easy as that! From experience, no one likes to talk about money, but I can’t stress the importance of this tip. Start by outlining what you can afford spend on the day and be mindful of your financial limits. A clear budget will help towards a stress-free and smooth planning process.

Identify your priorities early on

Now you have a clear budget for the wedding it’s time to talk details. Set aside an hour or two, where you and your partner make a list of your priorities. This will include your must-haves for the day - those specifics you aren’t willing to compromise on. Whether it's a particular style of venue, maybe you’ve found the perfect photographer, or a specific theme for the day, setting a clear list of priorities will guide you with ease throughout your decision making.

Choose the right suppliers

It can be a little overwhelming with the number of suppliers that are out there so it’s important to build a reliable team of wedding professionals who understand and share your vision. Don’t be afraid to ask them for recommendations and utilise their knowledge in the industry. From photographers to florists, selecting vendors who resonate with your style and preferences is crucial for a seamless and beautiful wedding day.

Make it personal

You can really have fun with this one as it’s time to infuse a little part of your personalities into the celebration. A wedding day is all about celebrating the love you share as couple so lets shout it from the roof tops! Whether it's personalised vows, unique décor, or a special surprise for your guests, adding personal touches will make your wedding truly memorable.

Maximise your budget

This tip is about looking for creative ways to maximise your budget without compromising on quality. Have you considered getting hands on with some DIY projects? Explore cost-effective alternatives and leverage the talents of friends and family to enhance the overall experience. One of my biggest tips for maximising your budget is reusing your flowers for different parts of the day. Transform your ceremony arch into a stunning top table display or reuse your bridesmaids’ bouquets as table centrepieces. Utilise your suppliers for valuable money saving ideas!

Enjoy every single minute!

There is no doubt about it, it’s going to be a whirlwind of emotions with months of planning, endless lists and decision making. Amidst the chaos of wedding planning, don’t forget to savour this adventure. Appreciate the entire process that planning a wedding entails and cherish those unique experiences it creates for you and your partner, friends, and family.
