Lauren And Kieran's Stylish Spring Wedding
It was an absolute delight to host Lauren and Kieran’s beautiful wedding in May 2022. Together they opted for a lovely relaxed, rustic outdoor ceremony inspired by the season and the picturesque countryside. For the studio, they chose a stylish colour palette of stunning peaches, neutrals and tones of rusty orange, along with homemade place names, vintage brass candle holders and pretty table runners. Following a delicious meal prepared by Rupert @philleighway, their friends and family gathered in the courtyard for the couple’s first dance under the shimmering festoon lights, with their chosen song played by some of their close friends.
Choosing the Perfect Wedding Venue
What were you looking for in a venue?
“We just knew if we were going to get married it had to be in the countryside of Cornwall, especially because we met at Falmouth University. We typed intimate wedding venues into Google and Camel Studio was one of the first ones that popped up and the rest is history! We instantly fell in love and just had this feeling that us getting married here was meant to be. We live in the country on a farm so it was important that it felt like a home from home, and the venue was even better in person, the stunning countryside and rustic charm made the decision for us and Helen’s so lovely, she made everything easy for us”.
Why did you chose Camel Studio?
“We had a really special feeling from the moment we visited and were so excited to tell our friends and family all about how amazing Camel Studio was, it just felt right! We absolutely loved the view, landscape and, everything about the venue. It was a perfect place to imagine our special day, and we feel so lucky to have celebrated our day at this stunning venue”.
What were your favourite elements of the venue?
“We really loved being able to have our parents and our closest friends and family stay on site in the accommodation with us, it was really lovely to wake up in the morning knowing we had love and support around us. On the day we also had the time to just relax. We had time to sit outside with a cup of coffee and take it all in, the views, the venue - I could see everyone getting ready and it just felt so nice to be happening around us, so I could sit there and take a deep breath”
Styling your Wedding Day
What was your inspiration behind your styling?
“We knew we wanted to add a pop of colour, we talked on the phone with Liv from Liv Cousins Floral Design and she was such a great help, we just clicked and got on so well! Liv made an amazing moodboard for us, it was bohemian, laidback, wild and rustic which just worked hand in hand with Camel Studio! It felt extra special but not over the top just as we dreamed.”
Did the overall effect meet your expectations?
“Definitely, it did. I made a few little bits myself that we brought with us and Phoebe (our coordinator) helped put everything together - it was girl power on the day! I remember walking into the barn for the first time after the beautiful ceremony outside and it was just perfect, it was so amazing it left us breathless.”
Wedding Highlights
What were the highlights of your special day and did it live up-to your expectations?
“Just after the ceremony we went for a walk to a little bridge situated over the Camel Valley river and it was just beautiful and so nice to have 20 minutes to ourselves as a married couple to soak it all in. Helen and Dave were just perfect, we couldn’t have asked for better hosts and Phoebe, our wedding co-ordinator did such a great job! In terms of expectations, the wedding we dreamed of was to be as relaxed as possible, we wanted to ultimately have Camel Studio as a venue and our closest friends and family around us! Our day was perfect, Helen and Dave made that really easy so we could just relax and enjoy the day. Our expectations were throughly met!”
How did you personalise your day?
“One of our main personalised parts of the day was in the evening- our friends from University played us some of our favourite songs in the courtyard. Music’s a big thing for us and we thought about having a band but when you’ve got close friends who are great at playing, we decided this would mean so much more to us and we really wanted them to add a personal touch to the day for us. We also searched lots of markets for our brass candle stick holders and found a lady who engraved the lyrics to our first dance song on them which was lovely.”
What would be your top tips for couples who are planning a wedding?
“If there’s anything you are unsure of, just ask Helen and Dave because they are just so accommodating so don’t overthink it and make sure you are organised. Also, make sure you plan your big day how you want it to be and don’t let other people give you ideas or put you off your dream. That made our planning more relaxing knowing that we did it exactly how we wanted to do our day.”
