We are honestly not sure where to start, words won’t do justice to how grateful we are to Helen and Dave at Camel Studio for our perfect wedding day. We guess our situation is probably a little different from most people in that, due to Covid, we actually had experience with two different wedding venues - our original venue that was set up to accommodate 100 people and Camel Studio, the venue we selected for our 30 people, and ultimately 15 people, wedding. We therefore have a comparison of the experience in both planning and the run up to the wedding between two venues and we can safely say, the Camel Studio experience was unrivalled.
From the very beginning, when we first realised our July wedding wasn’t going to go ahead and contacted Helen at Camel Studio, she was a pleasure to deal with. Given the large amount of uncertainty, around when and if our wedding was going to be able to take place, Helen was flexible on all fronts, from the date, to payments. We really appreciated this flexibility as it was not something our previous venue offered.
Helen and her husband Dave could not do enough to help us throughout the lead up to the wedding and on the day. From recommending a number of suppliers that we used on the day and were extremely impressed with, to sourcing IT equipment for making sure we could project pictures on the day and buying a last minute Christmas tree when we chose a Christmas wedding date. Camel Studio is essentially a blank canvas for you to create your perfect wedding day. They do not dictate on decorations, format or equipment, you can completely customise the space for the wedding feel you want.
We got married on 18th December so went for a cosy rustic Christmas feel but equally in the summer months, the Studio would suit any theme. When you decide to have your wedding at Camel Studio, you get the whole venue for the weekend, exclusively. This was priceless for us as it meant we could spend time setting everything up the day before and were not rushed out of the venue the day after, something which would not have been possible at our previous venue where they had weddings the day before and after ours. In this way, you don’t feel like you’re on a wedding conveyor belt at Camel Studio, which is how we felt at times at our previous venue. Another point to mention is the high standard of the venue, from the beautiful bridal suite, complete with free standing bath tub, to the immaculate house accommodation, which we can only describe as stunning.
If you are looking for picturesque views then Camel Studio is perfect. It is set in the most beautiful grounds, looking out onto rolling fields. You couldn’t ask for a more idyllic Cornwall countryside setting. We really appreciated the small touches like the welcome hamper in the house and complimentary champagne in the bridal suite, they all helped to make us feel special on our big day. Also if you have evening food, definitely go for the pizzas, as Dave is a pizza genius; they are delicious!
Our wedding day went completely smoothly and it didn’t feel like we were stuck to a rigid timeline, the day just flowed naturally, which is due to Helen and the team’s hard work on the day. Overall, when you pick a venue for your wedding day, all you want is to feel like the people at the venue running your day care that your day is special and we cannot put into words how much we felt that was the case with Helen and Dave at Camel Studio. Thank you guys so much for giving us the best day that we will never forget.
