Vitoria and Ben’s Stunning Spring Wedding

An April wedding meant the blossom was in full bloom at Camel Studio, an unexpected and beautiful bonus that Vitoria and Ben hadn’t foreseen when they booked the venue.

“Initially we were going to get married in Scotland,” explains Vitoria. “When Covid cancelled that, Ben and I didn’t want to keep delaying our wedding day. We both love the beach and love Cornwall, so we started looking for a venue there.”

Spotting Camel Studio on Instagram, the couple then viewed the venue via FaceTime, and their decision was made. “It was so beautiful. We instantly liked it… and booked it!” says Vitoria, revealing that they didn’t see the venue in person until they travelled down from their home in Swindon for their wedding. “We also loved it as the scenery around the area is stunning. Both of us are quite minimal, and wanted something natural; Camel Studio was just what we wanted.”

One of the ultimate reasons they booked Camel Studio though, was a more personal one. “Helen was so lovely and kind, which was really important to us,” says Vitoria. “We didn’t want anyone to be part of the day who wasn’t special. Helen and Dave were really special.”

In the lead-up to the wedding, Vitoria and Ben found owners Helen and Dave’s help invaluable, “All our amazing suppliers, from the photographers to Emilie who did my hair and make-up, were incredible, and they were all recommended by Helen. She made the experience really easy, especially when planning a wedding without living in the area.” And would Vitoria recommend having a wedding coordinator, who is included as part of booking a wedding with Camel Studio? “Yes 100%. I didn’t even think about how many things you have to consider – she just knew and took care of absolutely everything, so I didn’t have to worry.”

As the big day approached, Vitoria remembers how she felt when they first arrived at the venue, the night before the wedding. “I was super impressed. It was stunning, even more beautiful than we had imagined,” she says. “We were really chuffed with the decision.”

As their April wedding day began, the morning started with one important mission – making sure the pastries from Baker Tom’s had arrived, for the afternoon tea! Then Vitoria started to get ready with her mum and sister, until her dad came to get her and they walked across the grounds to the ceremony space on the lush grassy lawn.

It was a very personal, family-focused affair – “The ceremony was led by my dad, my sister did the worship, and we wrote our own vows,” says Vitoria –followed by drinks, afternoon tea and speeches “with a lot of jokes!”.

As the afternoon drew out and the celebrations continued, Vitoria and Ben went to the nearby beach with their photographers, which was one of the parts of the day the couple described as “really fun! We just messed about, we enjoyed it so much,” says Vitoria, going on to describe how Sarah and Jon [of Lyra & Moth] became like friends. “We loved getting to know everyone including the suppliers. Our friends loved them too – it created such a friendly and happy atmosphere, which is what made the day,” she says.

“Our best man led us through some Bollywood dancing, and everyone was very jolly!” she remembers, as their party of 15 relaxed into the evening with beers and pizza from Camel Studio’s converted horsebox. “One of my favourite elements of the day was just all being together. We hadn’t all been together for so long, it was so lovely. Oh and the canapés – the canapés made by Dave at Camel Studio tasted incredible!”
