Beautiful Spring Weddings At Camel Studio

Spring in Cornwall is such a lovely time of the year. The changes in the landscape after the winter months - the first blossom on the trees, the snow drops and primroses in the hedgerows, the bouncing lambs in the fields and the sunnier days that bring a spring to ones step. It is in late March/early April that Camel Studio opens its doors for the start of the new wedding season. We have been fortunate to host some stunning Spring weddings that we thought we would highlight here for a little inspiration.

Chloe & Adam - 50 guests. March 26th.

It was a stunning March day for Chloe and Adam’s festival-style wedding. Their beautiful celebrant-led ceremony, overseen by Georgie Higgs, was held outside by our Ash tree and overlooking the stunning view of the Camel Valley. Their ceremony incorporated hand-fasting - an ancient Celtic ritual in which hands are tied together to symbolise the binding of two lives. One of the benefits of having a celebrant is that you can really shape this aspect of your day and Chloe and Adam chose to also honor their one-year-old son in a beautiful naming ceremony.

The ceremony was followed by their favourite cocktails - dark & stormys and gin & tonics - which were enjoyed under the canopy of the stunning Sperry Tent. Sham of Situ Cafe was in charge of preparing a sumptuous feast that celebrated a fusion of Gujarati, Ugandan, and western food. The food was served feasting style so guests could help themselves to an array of tasty, colourful dishes. Afterward, Sham’s eye-catching little red tuk-tuk served fresh coffee as guests wandered outside to enjoy the last of the evening sun.

After the cutting of their cake, the evening concluded with a silent disco enjoyed under the simmering festoons in the Sperry Tent, a selection of delicious wood-fired pizzas followed by toasting of marshmallows around the fire-pit completed their special day.

Vitoria & Ben - 15 guests. 28th April

Vitoria and Ben’s wedding day was just magical. Vitoria’s Dad, a minister in their local church,  resided over the very personal ceremony. Vitoria’s sister and close friend performed an acoustic song and the family came together to bless this special pair. After the ceremony, the blossom on the trees in our orchard created a stunning backdrop for the couple to have some photos and film taken by Sarah and Jon of Lyra & Moth and the backdrop of the Camel Valley was picture-perfect for their group shots.

The meal was a homage to Cornwall. Guests feasted on Cornish pasties, sausage rolls, and a delicious cream tea. Afterward, Vitoria & Ben ventured to Rock beach, only 20 minutes away, to capture some stunning photos. Later in the evening, guests enjoyed more live music performed by their friends and family while enjoying pizzas and canapes under a clear starry sky.

Lauren & Kieran - 50 guests. 7th May

Lauren & Kieran opted for a lovely relaxed, rustic outdoor ceremony inspired by the season and the picturesque countryside. They chose a stunning colour palette of peaches, neutrals, and tones of rusty orange for their florals expertly created by florist, Liv Cousins.  In the studio, their tablescape was completed with homemade place names, vintage brass candle holders, and cheese cloth table runners. Kieran decided to utilise our projector for his groom’s speech and played the video of when he asked Lauren to marry him - another special moment for everyone to share. Following a delicious meal prepared by Rupert at Philleigh Way, their friends and family gathered in the courtyard for the couple’s first dance under the shimmering festoon lights, with their chosen song played by some of their close friends. The evening was perfectly completed with the couple exiting through an arch of sparklers.
