A Taste of the Mediterranean in Cornwall: Styled Shoot at Camel Studio

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a Mediterranean-inspired styled shoot at Camel Studio, and we’re excited to share the magic with you! For couples dreaming of sun-kissed days, rustic wedding elegance, and effortless romance, this shoot captures the warmth and charm of the Mediterranean—right here in Cornwall.

Mediterranean-Inspired Wedding Venue: Camel Studio's Natural Charm

The idea for this shoot has always been something we’ve wanted to do, as it beautifully complements the Mediterranean aesthetic of our venue. With its olive trees, greenery, white walls, and courtyard inspired by our own travels to the Mediterranean, Camel Studio felt like the perfect canvas. The courtyard, featuring a cosy palette seating area, festoon lights, and rustic touches like wood-fired pizzas and a firepit, is perfect for couples dreaming of a Mediterranean wedding in Cornwall.

Mediterranean Wedding Styling: The Vision

The vision was to transport couples to a setting that felt like a beautiful escape to the Mediterranean, without leaving the Cornish countryside. We wanted to capture that relaxed yet sophisticated Mediterranean wedding vibe, with soft tones, natural textures, and abundant greenery to reflect both the Mediterranean and Cornwall’s stunning landscape.

Mediterranean Wedding Colour Palette: Yellows, Creams, and Blush

The Mediterranean wedding theme embraced a joyful colour palette of yellows, creams, and hints of orange and blush, setting the perfect tone for a summer wedding. These shades were thoughtfully woven throughout the décor, creating a bright, uplifting atmosphere. The soft blush and cream tones balanced the vibrant yellows, while subtle pops of orange added a sunny Mediterranean warmth.

Mediterranean-Inspired Wedding Floral Arrangements

Our talented florist Ingrid brought the vision to life with stunning Mediterranean wedding flowers. She incorporated ‘meadow boxes’ at the ends of the tables, filled with flowers in blush, cream, and yellow for a relaxed, organic look. Pretty bowls of fresh flowers added texture and elegance to the tablescape, perfectly reflecting a Cornwall meets Mediterranean wedding.

Mediterranean Table Styling for Weddings

Jess, our amazing stylist, created a Mediterranean-inspired wedding table that was both a visual feast and a nod to al fresco Mediterranean dining. Menus with olive branch motifs added a touch of greenery, while vibrant yellow napkins brightened the table. Wooden charger plates, coloured glassware, and elegant white plates tied together a rustic yet refined look.

Mediterranean-Inspired Wedding Cake: A Citrus Twist

One of the standout details was the stunning cake created by The Cornish Cakery. The Mediterranean wedding cake featured three elegant tiers tied with dried grapefruit, cascading down in a beautiful, citrusy twist. The simplicity of the cake, paired with the striking grapefruit detail, created a statement piece that felt perfectly in tune with the overall Mediterranean vibe.

Mediterranean Wedding Ceremony: Under the Olive Branches

The ceremony backdrop was a stunning mix of natural beauty and thoughtful design. Floating fabrics draped from the branches of our ash tree created a romantic frame, while large urns filled with olive branches and cream and yellow blooms added to the Mediterranean wedding feel. Cross-back chairs adorned with olive sprigs completed this outdoor Mediterranean wedding setup.

Mediterranean-Inspired Wedding Reception in the Courtyard

The courtyard reception was a perfect Mediterranean wedding setting, complete with cosy cream and yellow cushions, blankets, rattan accents, and lemon place settings. Rattan charger plates, pretty white tableware, and an elegant cocktail station featuring a Mediterranean-inspired cocktail served from elegant coupes completed the Cornish Mediterranean wedding vibe. To add a playful touch, Proper Vintage Cornwall brought their ice cream trike, offering a fun and nostalgic element. Often a feature at Camel Studio weddings, the trike is always an instant hit with wedding guests.

Effortless Mediterranean-Inspired Bridal Style

The bridal look embodied Mediterranean wedding chic, with an assortment of beautiful dresses suited to the relaxed, sun-kissed vibe. Hair was styled in loose waves and elegant updos, while the makeup was kept natural and fresh. The groom wore a light linen suit, enhancing the relaxed yet refined Mediterranean vibe.
